Larger ladies are officially fashionable: breast enhancement up 10%!

The news that breast surgery was up 10% in 2010 despite there being the obvious recession hovering over everyone is interesting to say the least, but it shows us that we're finally over being skinny, and bigger boobs are officially fashionable! It's great that ladies are choosing to go up a bra-size, because hopefully that will encourage more women in general to embrace their curves and larger ladies to be celebrated.

Here at Uplifted Towers we reckon the increase in breast surgery is to do with the sudden influx of sexy vintage sirens on our screens, in particular the curvy cast of Mad Men, which we blogged about last year (giving you a handy insight to how to wear 1950s lingerie). It's no wonder when you have actresses like Christina Hendricks rocking the red carpet in gravity defying, cleavage enhancing dresses that would make Marilyn Monroe blush, it's apparent that skinny is out, and the hourglass figure is in.

But it might be more than just the curvy celebrities that are slowly gracing our magazine racks and gossip blogs that is tipping the trend towards larger breasts. It might just be that it's now more acceptable to have body shapes of all shapes and sizes; curvy, skinny, feminine, atheletic, pear-shaped, apple-shaped... the list goes on forever, but one thing's for sure, larger ladies are definitely not just a trend of the 1950s.

So whether you're one of the ladies who plumped for plastic surgery last year, or whether you're just naturally a cup size or two above the average, make sure you wear big bras that fit properly from a boutique retailer that specialises in larger lingerie. And that just so happens to be what Uplifted Lingerie does best. :)
