Just in! Plié, seamless Brazilian lingerie and 30% off

If you've been scouring Uplifted Lingerie of late to snap up larger lingerie in our fabulous 15% off January sale, chances are you will have come across Plié, with its satisfying tagline 'Functional Brazilian Lingerie'. Sounds good doesn't it. And though it is well-made, fairly exotic (read: new) and reliably flattering to large breasts, it also has the magic effect of shaving inches off the rest of your body. Say Plié and you might think of ballet, especially with the sudden ballerina trends on the catwalk and with big films like Black Swan taking over the awards ceremonies, and with Plié shapewear, you'll feel positively elegant too.

Using its world class standards of quality and fit, Plié makes use of the very latest in design and fabric technology to produce seam-free functional lingerie, which gives you the kind of silhouette you might only have seen on Brazilian beaches before! Plié is unique in that it's the only seam-free shapewear which uses incredible breathability treatment. Plié’s Feminine Touch will leave you feeling more elegant, attractive and confident but above all, supremely comfortable. Sound too good to be true? Well, you better believe it because there's 30% off at Uplifted Lingerie!

Take the seamfree boxer, pictured at the top of the page for example. At £28.88 it's a bargain way to slim your bottom and waist and frame your breasts all at once. That's a dream product if ever there was one! Or how about the Control tube, pictured above. At just £28.88 it's another bargain way to beat the bulge and keep you in, in all the right places, even in that skin tight boob tube dress you've been hankering after since you bought it in the January sales. January diet not necessary!

In fact, Plie have every bump and curve covered. Their maternity range is also top notch, such as this Maternity brief, which keeps your baby bump smooth and your body looking booty-licious, all for just £12.78. So, whether you're looking to trim your waist, slip into a bodycon dress or show-off your baby bump, Plie have the seamfree lingerie to suit you, and your budget.

Larger ladies are officially fashionable: breast enhancement up 10%!

The news that breast surgery was up 10% in 2010 despite there being the obvious recession hovering over everyone is interesting to say the least, but it shows us that we're finally over being skinny, and bigger boobs are officially fashionable! It's great that ladies are choosing to go up a bra-size, because hopefully that will encourage more women in general to embrace their curves and larger ladies to be celebrated.

Here at Uplifted Towers we reckon the increase in breast surgery is to do with the sudden influx of sexy vintage sirens on our screens, in particular the curvy cast of Mad Men, which we blogged about last year (giving you a handy insight to how to wear 1950s lingerie). It's no wonder when you have actresses like Christina Hendricks rocking the red carpet in gravity defying, cleavage enhancing dresses that would make Marilyn Monroe blush, it's apparent that skinny is out, and the hourglass figure is in.

But it might be more than just the curvy celebrities that are slowly gracing our magazine racks and gossip blogs that is tipping the trend towards larger breasts. It might just be that it's now more acceptable to have body shapes of all shapes and sizes; curvy, skinny, feminine, atheletic, pear-shaped, apple-shaped... the list goes on forever, but one thing's for sure, larger ladies are definitely not just a trend of the 1950s.

So whether you're one of the ladies who plumped for plastic surgery last year, or whether you're just naturally a cup size or two above the average, make sure you wear big bras that fit properly from a boutique retailer that specialises in larger lingerie. And that just so happens to be what Uplifted Lingerie does best. :)

Getting The Best Fit From Big Bras

Finding the right bras can prove a difficult experience for women with bigger breasts. The most common reason for discomfort or for choosing an inappropriately sized bra is that a lot of women do not know their current bra size. In a lot of cases this is because they use a measurement taken several years ago without knowing that their body size has changed. Even if the breast size is the same this may not necessarily mean that a bra that fit perfectly two years ago is still the ideal solution today.

Checking The Bra Fits

There are a number of areas where you should check the bra fits well especially when buying larger bras. Your breasts should be midway between your elbows and shoulders while the band of the bra should be level at the back and the front of your chest. This level fit means that the bra fit is ideal for your breasts.

Allowing For Movement

Make sure that the bra fits perfectly while on the last hook because there may come a time when you want more lift to wear certain outfits. If you choose a bra that only fits on the first hook then you won’t be able to alter the size any more in order to get a closer fit and more lift.

Time To Change Bra Size

If your breasts start to spill out of the cup then you should move up a cup size whereas if the bra dimples while wearing it then it means you may need a cup size smaller. If the band of the bra keeps slipping off your shoulders even while the cups fit perfectly this means you should get a bra with a smaller band size.

Greater Choice In Big Bras

There is a much greater choice on larger bras than there has ever been before, as women of all sizes want comfort, good looks, and the luxury of a bra that fits and is stylish too. Ideally, you should have your bra size checked regularly to ensure that you are buying bras the right size for your breasts and chest and remember that your breast size and body shape can and probably will change as you age.

Uplifted Lingerie has a wide and varied selection of bras for women with D Cup and larger breasts. Shop online to find comfortable and beautiful looking bras today.

Choosing the Right Big Bras

Choosing big bras in the past has often meant compromising on quality, comfort, or looks in order to ensure that you get somewhere close to the right size. However, the advance in bras and the greater selection of bras for the larger breasted woman means that you can now have everything you want from a bra regardless of your cup size and measurement. You can enjoy comfort from a bra that fits while buying underwear that looks great too.

Measuring Your Breasts

You should have your bra size measured at regular intervals to ensure that you’re buying the right size. Wearing a bra that doesn’t fit properly can lead to discomfort as well as unsightly bulges and dips in your bra. It may not be necessary to be measured every single time you buy a bra, but body shapes and breast sizes do change as we age and, as such, it is sensible to be checked every year or if you know your body shape has changed recently.

Feeling Good

Feeling good is as important as looking good. When you try big bras on ensure that they feel comfortable and that you can move around freely without feeling constricted or uncomfortable. Be honest with yourself because you will need to wear your bra regularly and if you aren’t comfortable when you first put it on then it’s unlikely that you’ll feel comfortable later.

Big Bras

Also be sure that your breasts fill the cup of the bra. If they spill over then it means you need a larger cup size. If they do not touch the fabric of the bra then you need to buy a smaller cup size. You can buy big bras in just about every size and in a wide variety of designs and styles so don’t worry if you need to find a different size.

Comfort And Good Looks

Big bras should be comfortable, but they can be good looking and attractive too. Choose the design that suits you and the look that you want. You can also choose big bras that give you lift for when you’re wearing special outfits giving you extra confidence and beautiful underwear.

Big bras from Uplifted Lingerie are designed for women with larger breasts. Our beautiful range of designed bras are available from a D cup size upwards.

Ugly underwear for Christmas?

Did you unwrap your presents this year with a false smile pasted on your face as you pulled a disgustingly neon pink, sequin covered 'bra and brief set' from under your Christmas tree?

Well, we feel your pain. Here at UL Towers, this year we've received all sorts of ugly underwear from our friends and families, who got it oh-so wrong.

Maybe it's because here we work around the most stylish and glamorous lingerie brands in the industry. Or maybe it's because we take so much pride in our lingerie that we wouldn't be caught dead in anything but the latest looks from Uplifted Lnigerie.  But whether we like it or not, sooner or later, we always get some ugly lingerie for Christmas. But this madness must end!

That's why it's so important you tell everyone you know about Uplifted Lingerie! Imagine opening your presents next year to find this Playtex Rose bra? Much more Oh la la than faux-pas, no?

And imagine how chuffed you'd be to find a set the Elodie Slate set by Fantasie in your stocking?
So ladies, come December next year, you'll just need two words on your Christmas list. Uplifted Lingerie. That way there'll be no more neon sequins adorning your poor lady lumps ever again. :)

Can you beat sequins and wrong sizes? Let us know about the ugliest underwear you've received as a gift, by commenting below!

Mad Men style: lingerie to wear for a 50s figure

Everyone’s talking about Mad Men. Whether it’s the shockingly sexist, blinkered 50s society the show examines, the charm of the strong, central characters or the absolutely gorgeous clothes that Peggy, Joan and Betty parade, chances are you’re already as hooked as we are.

To get away with those nipped-in waists, frothy skirts and bulging bosoms, you might be mistaken for thinking that you need a perfect hourglass Nigella Lawson-esque figure. But you’d be wrong. You could be apple, pear or square in body shape, but glamorous, feminine 50s silhouettes all come down to one thing: the right lingerie.

Get your vintage 50s wardrobe in shape with the help of the following Mad Men style lingerie, all of which our favourite Mad Men characters would most certainly approve of.

Joan Holloway: sexy and supportive

Joan is the sauce of the ad agency office in Mad Men, with her sophisticated, smart and supremely sexy style which shows off her curvy figure with panache. Stay in line with Joan's classic 50s look with supportive lingerie which doesn't lack the sex-kitten factor and pick the Fantasie Belle balcony bra in black, £26.76 down from £31.48. The smooth black satin is cool and enigmatic, while the floral lace adds a strong feminine touch that Joan would be proud of.

Peggy Olsen: prim and practical

Because Peggy takes her copywriting role seriously, she needs to dress the part too. This means practical, supportive lingerie which keeps her in place without hiding her best assets completely - and if Wonderbra had been around in Peggy's time she would definitely have a few Everydays to hand. For work-ready lingerie, try Wonderbra Everyday, £20.83 down from £24.50 and embrace the comfy satin straps and thin, moulded cups which won't be revealing any distracting lines for the other office workers.

Betty Draper: fancy and feminine

What with all the glam balls, romantic dinners and general Grace Kelly style posing, Betty Draper needs the effortlessly chic and pretty-pretty lingerie to match her designer wardrobe. Choose Playtex Flower bra in white lace, £19.55 down from £23 for a girly look but a reliable lift; something of a paradox these days! The scalloped edging, satin ribbon and white lace gives the lingerie an innocent look, while the wide set straps and comfort cushions pads mean you'll be able to saunter all day, hassle-free.
